Coney Island Fair in 1896, where the escalator was first introduced to the public.
The escalator has not undergone any significant revolutions since its introduction. Current escalators that we use today are just made of more durable materials, have more complex monitoring sysytems and energy saving technology but they have always served the same purpose.
