TRAVELATORS
Provide assistance in lateral travel over short and medium distances.

Most passengers will be tired after their flights, especially long haul ones, and the travellator seeks to assist them in getting to their destinations. While using the travelator, they can put their bags down and let the travelator take them to their next destination.

The photo on the right shows a creative form of advertising used by the New Zealand Tourism Department in partnership with Qantas. An aircraft fuselage was placed around the travelator, with pictures in the interior of the plane showcasing tourist attractions in Sydney.

Tourist Sites

The travelator is used in zoos and museums to allow viewing of animals and exhibits in a certain sequence. Not only does it provide a unique aesthetic effect, it also ensures that the crowd moves along at a good pace. An example of where this can be found will be at Underwater World Singapore at Sentosa.
Ski Resorts
-
The travelator at ski resorts is unique as it was designed in a way to provide a high level of grip, so skiers can stand on their skis when using the travelator.
-
Since the travelator cannot be too steep and is slow compared to other aerial lifts, it is mainly used by beginner skiers. It also used to transport people over a short uphill distance, such as to help skiers reach a restaurant or another lift station.
-
This travelator can also be found at chairlift entrances, helping passengers to board the chairlifts.
